Suit Yourself or Shoot Yourself!! The Nouveau Riche (Kurosawa Kiyoshi, 1996)These keep getting better. The guys team up with Sachiko from Wink who’s stumbled upon a lot of heroin. A lot of heroin. Too much to sell, too much for the universe to allow them get rid of it. The cheap and quick production shows in lots of long takes, not a lot of locations nor a lot of second thought put into narrative proceedings, but all involved just create such magic from it. Straddles light and dark so well. Like a manzai routine going on as elemental, ritualistic, fatalistic yakuza violence circles happenstance. -- source link
