straight76ed: dasha-through-the-snow: dopeluminarydreamer: the-future-now: That’s Louis Rossman, a repair technician and YouTuber, who went viral recently for railing against Apple. Apple purposely charges a lot for repairs and you either have to pay up or buy a new device. That’s because Apple withholds necessary tools and information from outside repair shops. And to think, we were just so close to change. Follow @the-future-now Reblog if you: Have an iPhone and are in need of repairs Have a friend with that problem Hate Apple and are more than happy to spite them in some way No one will know which is it Highly recommend watching this three-part saga of a popular tech review channel accidentally breaking their iMac and trying to have it repaired, which lead to a big scandal: Louis Rossman is one of the best advocates for the right to repair out there. Absolutely excellent guy. He’s been on the news takin apple to task for their absolute bullshit excuses. Highly suggest looking it up. He fixed a machine with a minor issue of a small bent pin on the display cord, that apple had quoted a repair of $1000 for due to “water damage” when the board was pristine. 10 minutes of time and Louis had the machine fixed, a repair he wouldn’t even charge for. -- source link
