thisismyhappiness-rp: Harry Whitehouse ⇄ The March Hare  FC: Matt Smith Fairytale: Alice in Wonderland WONDERLAND: In Wonderland, every native had some special skill. The Rabbit had his speed, Cheshire had his invisibility and for the Hare, his skill was also his own private curse. Truth. The Hare was able to see Truth. Not only when someone was lying or hiding something, but the whole meaning of Truth. In his head, revelations about the past, the present, and the future could collide in a glorious mental firework. The true nature of people was bare before his eyes and sometimes, even the veil of reality could be ripped apart to his almost omniscient sight. Who could have bear to see the the naked Truth without losing their mind? Who would have been able to carry the weigh of undisguised reality, especially Wonderland True reality without going… As mad as a march hare? That’s why, most of the time, the Hare was nothing more than a psychotic lunatic, rambling nonsenses all over the place. He could pass from hallucination to deep paranoia in a matter of second, from laughter to tears, from euphoria to hysteria. Though, the White court couldn’t waste such a gift and the Hare was way too mad to be left on his own for too long. So he was named Cook of the Court even if sometimes, his dishes were a bit…surprising. But from time to time, the Hare had some brilliant moment of absolute lucidity and he would speak oracles about past, present, future. He was the one announcing the first visit of the Hatter in Wonderland and waiting for him when he fell from his hat in this world. He was the one prophesying Alice’s return. He knew about the Queen of Hearts, about the other lands, and about Cora’s disappearance. Months before the dark mist came to engulf Wonderland, the March Hare had been speaking about “The mist as black as her heart, the curse as long as her grief, the story as sad as hers.” When he wasn’t chanting this, he was repeating a name, just one name over and over again, sometimes for hours. “Emma, Emma, Emma, Emma.” But no one ever understood before it was too late for all of them. STORYBROOKE: Now, meet Harry Whitehouse aka Mr Boom. In Storybrooke he was what you can call a genius, a gifted man. His brain worked so fast that he managed two doctorates at the same time, one in chemistry and one in pharmacology. He used to do research for the university and the hospital and was virtuoso of the chemical things, knowing instinctively how to mix substances together to create something new. Sometimes he would do something to make it explode, to Dr Whale’s annoyance. Harry was a nice man, though a bit of a loony sometimes. Like all the geniuses, he has his own little weirdness. But a curse, even one as strong as Regina’s, couldn’t keep the Hare’s gift closed forever. Harry always had those strange dreams when sleeping. Sometimes it was faces he knew but with different outfit, in different places. Sometimes it was a cat or a rabbit. Sometimes his dreams was premonitory. Harry used to talk with Archie about those dreams, always curious to understand about how his brain was working. The last thing he told to the psychologist was “I dreamt about a blond woman, pretty by the way. And when I woke up, I had this weird sensation that something was about to break.” Then, something broke and his memories began to rush inside of him. Harry simply disappeared, locking himself up in his house to try to set his mind in order, to re-organize his head with all the information that had been flooding it. But just when he managed to eventually set things clear, Rumpelstiltskin brought magic back. Slowly, insidiously, reality’s veil is beginning to split before his eyes as his gift begins to grow back inside of him. And so does his ancient madness. The March Hare is coming back, along with the unbearable weigh of Truth in Harry’s life. THE RELATIONSHIPS: Close relationships: Wonderlanders, Archie.
