invert-palaeo:Eleven days of cephalopodsSpirula - a genus of squid-like cephalopods from the Neogene. They still have a tiny internal shell (<2cm!), earning them the name ‘ram’s horn squid’. These guys live in the deep ocean where they emit green light from a photophore on top of the head. As deep ocean dwellers, not much is known about their behavior, i.e. exactly what this light is used for. Ꞓ - O - S - D - C - P - T - J - K - Pg - NImage Credit: E.
