coolbugs:Bug of the DayDiscovered this large moth at my light in the wee hours this morning. Spent way too long in bed searching for the id using my smartphone…should have just gotten off my butt and dug out the Peterson’s Guide, since I kept thinking I’d seen this moth way in the front of the guide. Turned out to be a Silver-spotted Ghost Moth (Sthenopis argenteomaculatus), a brand new species, genus, and family for the yard (actually, never seen anything in this family before *ever*)! -- source link
