My Bratz shirts from @hottopic have arrived! I want to talk about them a little bit because Bratz dolls had the biggest impact in my life growing up. I started playing with Bratz a little while after they were first released and soon they were all I wanted and every time I went to the store, I got a new one. I had so many dolls that filled up a large storage bin, I had bins to separate all of their shirts, pants, shoes, and accessories. I also had bedding, the lip phone, chairs, all of their CDs, anything that was covered in Bratz, I had. It got to a point where I never really played with them but, instead I would dress them up, do their hair, and place them gently in a line across my bedroom floor. I was obsessed with their clothing and creating new looks all the time. This influenced my life when I would go clothes shopping. I would want clothing that looked like something similar to what my dolls were wearing. I also loved Green Day, so I wanted to wear my Green Day t-shirt with my low rise bootcut jeans, chunky boots, and my funky hat. When I got older, I give them away, grew up, and tried to figure out what to do with my adult life. I realized that fashion was all I wanted to do. I don’t think fashion would have ever been an idea for me if it wasn’t for my Bratz dolls. Barbie could never get me to fall in love with fashion the way Bratz did (probably because I am not a fan of the color pink lol). Even back then little Kirsten loved bands and fashion and wanted to bring them together. That’s now what I do in my everyday life and on this blog. I want my band merch but I also want to be fashionable. I had some of the dolls on these shirts growing up and I recognized their clothing and I could even remember what they felt like and the material they were made out of. When I saw Hot Topic created these shirts, I knew that I had to get as many as I could that really brought me back to my childhood and reminded me where my love for fashion started. -- source link
