REBLOGGING is different because it shows the artists blogs and has a direct link to it and it’s a button on Tumblr. REBLOGGING helps the artist as the likes still transfer to their orginal post. REPOSTING is downloading the images and making your own post with the art. Most of the time to OTHER platforms. Repost harms the artist because, more often than not, the artist isn’t linked or credited. This can particularly harm the artist when the repost gets more likes than the orginal post. And most of the time, unless someone REALLY likes the art and wishes to find the artist, people will like and move on without much note to the fact that it’s a repost. Most artists don’t want you to repost their art with credit too and just because and artist might give you credit for ONE POST doesn’t mean you can do it to ALL of their posts.
