architectureandfilmblog: La Fábrica’, Ricardo Bofill, renovation of existing cement factory, 1973-WESTWORLD (2020)2020′s instalment of this show offered even more architectural interest than previous seasons, even if it felt slightly less successful in other ways. Frank LLoyd Wright’s Millard Residence returned, as Arnold’s house (appropriated by Delores), after initially appearing in season two. It was nicely matched by the other architectural star, Ricardo Bofill’s own iconic cement factory home in Barcelona, which was used both as a filming location and as the basis for sets. The site was apparently suggested by BIG’s Bjarke Ingels, who acted as an informal architectural consultant, and supplied digital versions of some of his own unbuilt projects for the many CGI images of 2058 LA. These futuristic cityscapes also incorporated structures inspired by Singapore’s present day skyline, including Moshe Safdie’s Marina Bay Sands, and several vertically-vegetated towers. The Delos Corporation Headquarters, which feature often, were shot at Santiago Calatrava’s Arts and Sciences building, in Valencia, Spain. (Image via pinterest) -- source link
