An important new report looks at how the criminal justice system discriminates against the LGBT and HIV/AIDS communities, offering dozens of policy recommendations on everything from policing to incarceration to the school-to-prison pipeline. The report, “A Roadmap for Change, Federal Policy Solutions for Addressing the Criminalization of LGBT People and People with HIV,” is aimed at federal agencies from the Department of Education to Homeland Security to the Pentagon to the CDC. Authors include the Center for Gender & Sexuality Law at Columbia Law School, the Center for American Progress, the Center for HIV Law & Policy, and the NYC group Streetwise & Safe.
