art-mirrors-art:A leaf from the manuscript called Geomantie, an astrological-astronomic calendar published c.1557. The leaf depicts an astrolabe with rotating disc for determining the planetary hours, illustration after Berthold Furtmeyr, possibly by Albrecht Glockendon the Younger. Interestingly, but it is the (God of) Sun who holds the mirror here, not the (Goddess of) Venus. But of course - the original meaning (and usage) of mirrors, back from the Ancient Egypt, was to reflect the light, not to reflect our faces. -- source link
