My favorite thing to “work out” is my mental health. These are gold. #repost @thebodyisnotanapology These are incredible Posted @withregram • @kindred.leaders When I receive a clear and bold out of office message like these I literally think, “What a badass.” And then I proceed to email the person again letting them know how much I’m cheering their boundaries on. And then I get another out of office response. Transparently managing expectations of yourself and others is an act of care. As we head into tougher, heavier, colder, and sicker months, now is the time to set up systems to protect and honor your and your team’s capacity. Here are 3 examples to consider. Swap out the details and timeframes, as you see fit. Be bold and unapologetic. Release other peoples’ urgency. Let it go. Leaders, you have to not only encourage your team to do this, you have to model it, too. Let’s also take the time to affirm our colleagues when we see them rocking their boundaries. Y'all got this. We’re cheering you on. *** Image ID Each slide is formatted as an out of office email reply. Slide 1:Dear Sender, Thank you for contacting me. We are currently experiencing higher demand on our time. To honor our capacity and care for ourselves, our email response times are longer than usual. You can expect to hear back from me in 3-5 days. Thank you so much for your support. Slide 2:Dear Sender, During this time of transition, trauma, and struggle across our community, country, and world, I have arranged my schedule to best care for our community and myself. I will only be checking my email from 9am-10am each day. I am aiming to respond to emails within one week of receipt. If in one week, I have not responded, please reach out again. Thank you; I receive your support as an act of solidarity. Slide 3:Dear Sender, Sorry I missed you. I am out of the office today. For the month of October, we are closed on Fridays to catch up on offline work and care for ourselves. I will get back to you by next Wednesday. I appreciate your support and understanding. https://www.instagram.com/p/CUqhp-iJ5U0LKbhwpdd_17C31gfK52me-N61Q40/?utm_medium=tumblr -- source link
