They always have been. I wrote this a year ago and it seems even more true today: “Oh how the heart soars at the mere mention of the return of a good king! We all want a real-life Aragorn. Though history constantly shows us bad examples of kingship, something inside us yearns for the truly good sovereign, one that we have never seen but we know can be. We look for a king that will cast down tyrants and bring justice and peace, a king that will serve his people to his very last breath, a king that will let no evil thing abide. It is as if all the failures in kingship, point to how great it will be to have a truly good King on the Throne.
