Cerca del final del camino barroso, el Parque Nacional Torres del Paine, Chile, 2001.One of several vehicles for a mostly Scandinavian tour group which had driven over several months the roads from Prudhoe Bay in Alaska to Patagonia. They still had a few more days of travel to Tierra del Fuego where their longitudinal transect (and the roads) of the Western Hemisphere was to end. Given how far the vehicles had travelled (over in many cases less than good roads), they were in remarkably good condition. Although it was late summer in Patagonia, the rain clouds were dense, the snow was fresh above about 200 m, and the gravel road into and inside the park was muddy. -- source link
