A couple of weeks earlier a Time magazine writer claimed, even more boldly, that 2014 was the best year for women “since the dawn of time”. Both writers rested their case on the strength and effectiveness of protests at violence against women, from shootings and campus rape to Twitter trolling and misogynist postings on social media. They make a point that is both important and remarkable.
