chirpingtiger:thoughtfulbreadpolice:super-dreamsrunwild-world:chirpingtiger:living-wissen:chirpingtiger:Found this gem on Pinterest.Hah!LOLYou are tottally right! This completely changes everything! Steve took off the helmet so it doesn’t matter that he slammed that shield into his chest and left him in the Cold, abandoned on a Hydra base in a location where if it -40 degrees you will freeze your limbs.Jesus Christ@living-wissenI mean, if you want to completely ignore the fact that T'Challa is sitting about a hundred yards away with a jet, well aware of the fact that Tony is in the base…as well as the fact that Tony has a cell phone, a smart watch, and a number of other communications gadgets on his person, and is more than capable of calling for help…or the fact that FRIDAY can relay an alert for lost signal to Rhody and Vision, who can send someone to pick Tony up…or the fact that Tony is in a sheltered area in a suit that theoretically has some form of thermal protection and is currently very warm because it was just operating…or the fact that he’s supposed to be a genius and is currently sitting in a base full of functional HYDRA tech…But no, you’re absolutely right. Tony got his suit powered off while trying to kill two people, and was left aaaaall alone by them following his weapons being turned off.I suppose he’s going to die. Also, I’m not sure where you’re getting -40 degrees from.Winters in Siberia have an average annual temperature about −5 °C (23 °F) with an average for January of around −25 °C (−13 °F), which is nowhere near your -40.While it’s true that Siberia holds one of the world’s record low temperatures, as of Feb. 6, 1933, where an observer measured an outside temperature of -89.8 degrees, this is not the standard.Frostbite is possible in extremities like fingers and toes if Tony had been sitting out in the cold without protection for a number of hours, but clearly this was not the case. He had on an insulated suit that was currently very warm. And even if he HAD been completely stranded there with no way out, it is by no means something that would endanger him all that much.Tony could still get up and move around. He could have gone further inside the base to keep warm. There’s plenty of stuff to burn to help heat himself as well. And as it was pointed out before, there’s a ton of old HYDRA tech that’s still working - as evidenced by the TV with the video feed.Even if he was stranded there for a couple days he would have been fine, assuming he had at least moderate intelligence and did something other than lie on the ground feeling sorry for himself because Steve picked Bucky over him.And yes, Steve makes a point of removing the helmet before powering down the suit. If you watch the scene, he hits Tony three times:Once with his fistOnce with the shieldA second time with the shield, breaking a piece off of the helmet. You can see the little piece hit the ground behind Tony on the third hit. If you watch the clip, you can even hear it hit the ground.Immediately after, Steve moves the shield aside, reaches down, and pulls the mask off.Following that, he smashes the reactor, forcibly powering down the suit and ending the fight.Steve doesn’t strike him again after that. This was very explicitly shown to be Steve doing just enough to end the fight, and then turning his attention to getting Bucky somewhere safe. And if we’re going to talk about characters ditching people in non-ideal conditions, we really don’t have to look much further than Mr. Stark’s brush-off of his supposed “friends” at the Raft…Who should have told who what and when doesn’t address the problem in this particular situation. Steve HAD to disable Tony’s suit. He HAD To get Bucky (who was injured) away from the man who was trying to kill him. (if you don’t believe that, take it up with the writers and directors) After the suit was out of commission, Steve stopped and walked away. Like I said earlier, they had radios in T’Challa’s plane and the Quinjet, they could have called for help, Tony probably had some kind of ‘in distress’ signal built into his tech (he is that smart), similar to what firefighters have. But say none of that happened. Tony could have retreated deeper into the bunker for cover, and messed around with the tech Hydra left behind. He built a suit in a cave with a box of scraps after all, so either he is smart enough to get himself out of this situation, or he’s not.HE OBVIOUSLY GOT OUT OF THERE, whether by his own means or by someone else’s. Steve obviously knew that he would make it out of there, alive. okay 1: everyone is entitled to their opinions. 2: and this is important; IF YOU HAVE NEVER EVER ALMOST FROZEN TO DEATH THEN YOU NEED TO SHUT THE FUCK UP. do you people have any idea how fast metal cools? the colder it is the faster it gets cold. and if you are stuck in said metal you are going to get cold right along with it. thermal? sure. that’d keep you warm. for a while. thermal doesn’t keep you warm for ever. Inside though. so? you can freeze to death in a sheltered area. with no way to create friction, you. are. going. to. freeze. dumb ass. check your shit bitches before posting shit you clearly know nothing about.3: again. check your facts. if tony were actually trying to kill steve and bucky he would and could have. references; IM 1 IM2 IM3.4: you don’t leave people stranded. that makes you an awful human being and you need to be very very ashamed of yourself. and probably do some hard core reflection.check your shit.1. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but everyone who doesn’t agree with you should shut up. Very nice. It’s good that you spelled out your hypocrisy, it saves me the time. 2. Again, you’re ignoring that Tony had dozens of easy ways out. Tony wasn’t trapped in the suit. He also had multiple ways to call for help. You guys are claiming that he can’t even figure out how to open up his own armor and dial a number on his cell phone if his suit gets damaged.Honestly, you claim he’s some kind of super genius, but apparently if the suit loses power then he’s stuck lying on the ground, completely helpless and slowly dying, completely unable to move or call for help or anything until someone comes to rescue him.It sounds to me a bit more like Jarvis/Friday was the real genius, and Tony was just the one operating the welding machine for them, if that’s the case.3. You might want to check your own facts. The Russo brothers explicitly said in the director’s commentary that Tony was trying to kill Bucky because he wanted to hurt Steve. Not as revenge, not because he thought Bucky was dangerous, not because he was in some righteous rage. Tony wanted to make Steve hurt because Steve chose his best friend over the man that has done nothing but harass and belittle and insult and lie to him for almost eight years.Sorry this doesn’t align with your own personal opinion of how awesome Tony is, but…as you said, check your sources. Had Steve not disabled the suit, Tony would have killed the already wounded Bucky.Tony was a failed murderer who you’re trying to turn into a victim with bad arguments.4. When someone tries to murder you and your best friend, you’re not obliged to hold their hand and see if they’re okay and offer them a band-aid or a cup of hot cocoa instead of getting your friend to safety.Sorry to break it to you, but given the situation?Steve walking away WAS mercy.Because at that point he had every right to kill Tony in self defense.Step up your game.Dude. The mental gymnastics some Tony stans go to in order to make him the victim while he’s beating and shooting the living shit out of two people, kicking a prone man in the face after blowing off his arm, dropping ceilings on Steve… -- source link
