JUCIHIROAJACABURGENSIS FLORENSAyakaYukihiroFlowery Class RepresentativeTranslation Notes:Jucihiro Ajaca is simply the Japanese name Yukihiro Ayaka Latinized.  Ajaca is declined like any feminine name of Latin’s first declension: Ajaca, Ajacae.Burgensis is a tricky word.  It means “citizen,” “burgess,” “burger."  None of these words seems to be particularly relevant to Ayaka.  However, the word burgess has a very narrow and specialized meaning, and I found out about this from reading its entry in the Oxford English Dictionary:One elected to represent his fellow-citizens in parliament; the member of parliament for a borough, corporate town, or university. Now only technical and Hist.When I read the first part, the first thing that came to mind was the word Iincho.  Ayaka’s role as the Class Rep is analogous to the role of this sort of burgess.  And this sort of burgess, or rather burgensis, seems to mean "representative of a group."  Latin does not have a word that easily comes to mind when "class representative” is meant, so I suppose burgensis would have to do.  This is why I have translated burgensis as “class representative.”Florens is the present active participle of florere, “to flower” or “to flourish."  The word itself can mean "flowery."  The flowers behind Ayaka, taken in conjunction with her outgoing, florid persona, have compelled me to use that translation.Card from here. -- source link
