curlicuecal:jardandonn:shawnaerv:SERIOUSLY THO??? It effects us … The fact that people are dumb enough to believe that humans are affected by the moon just because, under the surface, we are 70%+ water is beyond me. It’s plain and simple, we aren’t affected by tides because first of all, as we are not pure liquid, the gravitational pull of the moon is not strong enough to move us in such a way as it does oceans. And clearly only very large bodies of water (such as oceans) are affected by the moon. You would never see a tidal puddle or large swimming pool because physics simply don’t work that way.Like. Folks realize the moon affects tides because of gravitational pull, not cuz they’re water…. right?Gravitational forces between objects are based on the sizes of the objects involved and the distance between them. We’re the same distance from the moon as the ocean, but we’re *way* tinier, the gravitational pull of the moon is infinitesimal to the point of undetectability. Your computer chair probably has a bigger gravitational effect on you. -- source link
