Your Fave Is Catholic: Audrey AssadKnown for: Singer & songwriter of contemporary Christian
Your Fave Is Catholic: Audrey AssadKnown for: Singer & songwriter of contemporary Christian music, she is currently one of the most successful artists in that genre & has found great acclaim in this field. She was inspired by many great singers & songwriters before her, & she started her career in music in 2002. Her debut album, The House You’re Building, debuted in 2010 & became one of the highest charting albums in Christian music. Since then, she has continued making music & continues doing her best to inspire those who may be struggling like she has over the years. She has about 10 albums to her name, & some of her singles include “Winter Snow”, “For The Love Of You”, “Restless”, & “Lord, I Need You” (she was a guest singer on this Matt Maher single).Evidence of Faith: Originally, Audrey grew up in a Protestant household, according to several interviews such as this one here done by Wiki user Evan Amos. Her parents met at a Bible camp when they were younger, & as such they raised their children in the Protestant faith. But as Audrey explains in that interview, she ultimately wasn’t very satisfied with how the Protestant faith dealt with Christianity & how to interpret things. However, she did admire that the Catholic faith was a faith that, in her words, “stood its ground” & knew exactly what it was. Adding the fact that its existence dates all the way back to 40 A.D., she ultimately decided to convert to the Catholic faith. According to another interview from Patheos.com, Audrey explains that she converted to Catholicism in 2007, after being inspired by a good Catholic friend who shared with her the truth & compassion of Catholicism (as she explains, she was taught a lot of un-truths growing up). Since then, she has remained loyal to the Catholic faith, & works as a bridge to unite other Christians into loving each other & serving God. Of course, being a contemporary Christian artist, her music is also a clear giveaway that she’s Catholic. In fact, several sources even make it clear that her Protestant upbringing, her current Catholic beliefs, & various literature & poetry influence her songs, & that when she writes songs she is emphasizing that she’s singing to God & not just about God.Note: I sort of realized that this entry might be violating my own rules, since Audrey is a Christian music artist & her religious faith is probably a dead giveaway for many people. Still, one can admire that she’s specifically a Catholic singer of Christian music, & hopefully you guys won’t mind that I’ve included her. -- source link
