You hugged your knees, biting your lip nervously as you stared off at the stars. You’d been waiting for hours now for a boy who just wasn’t coming, you knew that, but it was too embarrassing to admit. You’d been stood up. Being outside at night was the only good thing about this situation. You liked the way the summer air felt and sitting in the grass made you feel a little better.“(Y/n)?” Castiel was behind you, a worried look on his face. “What are you doing out here? It’s late.” “I know it is.” You responded, shifting a bit. “I just wanted to be outside..” You lied. “Dressed like that?” He gestured to your new dress before sitting in the grass beside you. It took a lot not to frown at that. You’d spent so long finding the perfect outfit for tonight, for nothing. “You look very pretty. I just don’t understand why you got so dressed up to sit on the ground in the dark.” “I was supposed to go out.” You finally told him, sighing a bit as you look up at the stars. “I just.. I don’t know. I thought I could go out and have fun, like a normal girl my age. I guess the normal life just doesn’t have room for me.” Castiel furrowed his brows as he thought over what you’d told him. “What would you like to do?” He asked. You didn’t really know the answer to that. “I guess I was expecting to go out to eat, maybe watch a movie.” You shrugged your shoulders and before you could blink, you were standing outside of your favorite restaurant with Castiel’s hand in yours. “What are you doing?” You smiled at him, slightly confused.“Taking you out to eat.” He shrugged, as if he did this every night. “There’s a movie theater not too far from here. We can go there next.” You didn’t miss the satisfied grin on his face as he led you through the door. -- source link
