electronbait:I’m confused, why does Lydia seem unhappy with the reaction? in lydia’s dream, she was a failed writer, a tortured artist along the lines of van gogh. she thought her work was genius and nobody understood it. this is a dream of righteous persecution– her ego believes that she is suffering unfairly, but that she is ultimately right.she brought her dream-story to the workshop with the expectation that the dream wish would be fulfilled, people would NOT like the work, and she would be vindicated as a tragic artist. but because people genuinely liked her story, it ruins the fantasy and complicates things! she doesn’t get vindication. so she is deflated. -- source link
