Every day this past week has reminded me that the world still isn’t ready to hear the stories of dark skinned black women. - In this tumultuous time, where we are demanding the world to confront the complicated tapestry of being Black in America, the word of the darker brother and sister still aren’t honored as truth. Speaking out about colorism, the intra-racial prejudice against dark skinned folks, is still seen as divisive and incorrect, and we are relegated as liars and trouble makers. - The same message still applies - black lives don’t matter unless all black lives matter. Include the voices of your darker skinned black folks, and center their narratives. We have been pushed to the margins in our own movements far too long. ✊• • • • • #colorism #endcolorism #colorismhealing #darkskinwomen #darkskinmen #darkskinnedwomen #darkskinnedbeauty #darkskinbeauties #melaninbeauty #melaninpower #blackvoices #blacktivist #supportblackwomen #aka1908 #blackpowermovement https://www.instagram.com/p/CB_uxINFeqJ/?igshid=1dqz1enbn2xof -- source link
