medievalpoc:skemono submitted to medievalpoc:Thought I’d submit some mainstream cape & cowl comics. Let’s start off with Ms. Marvel from Marvel Comics. The writer is G. Willow Wilson, and the artists Adrian Alphona & Jake Wyatt.Ms. Marvel follows Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American Muslim girl in New Jersey, who gains superpowers. Much of the supporting cast are also Muslims, all of whom are depicted respectfully, and have a diverse range of personalities, attitudes, and approaches to their religion.But it’s also just one of the most fun comics on the stands now. Kamala is a happy, geeky fangirl, and it is a blast to follow her adventures.Also she headbutts a robot.It’s only eight issues in so far, so it’s pretty easy to catch up. Also it’s been pretty isolated from the rest of the Marvel universe thus far, so you don’t need to know anything going in. -- source link
