godpenis:surprisebitch:I noticed that so many people in Tumblr have used the Steve Buscemi GIF to signify everything Hillary Clinton does cause let’s face it, her campaign for the most part is her trying to look cool or be in with the youth. So as a social experiment, I put the steve buscemi gif as a caption when I uploaded this iconic moment of Hillary saying “May the Force be with you” to close her democratic debate.I removed it immediately when I noticed my post has passed 500 notes because before posting the GIF, i knew Star Wars is from my grandparents’ & parents’ generation. I just wanted to see if people would call it out or a comment with calling it out will go viral. And to be honest, I’m amazed when I saw the next day, it got 10k notes with the Steve Buscemi gif caption floating around and no comment of calling it out! Until it became viral that it got 100k notes in less than a week with either the Steve Buscemi gif as a caption or the “I am Fun” caption from the Onion (which is a witty caption I must admit).I hate to break it to all of you who reblogged the post with the Steve Buscemi gif adding captions or tags like Hillary has most probably been a fan of Star Wars before the majority of Tumblr users or our generation was born.. so she’s not trying to be hip when she said this. She’s really quoting a line that originated from her generation. So the Steve Buscemi gif cannot apply for this moment. It can for when she talked about doing the nae nae, chilling in cedar rapids, using “yas” and “slay” but not for this moment. This also explains why many in the audience laughed and cheered who are probably the same age as Hillary cause they also experienced Star Wars when they were young. But the thing is she knew that the newest Star Wars movie just came out, and it is a very relevant topic with millennials. So she probably she was saying this only because it just came out. I see your point but it kinda still does apply. -- source link
