Here’s a little BLUESDAY inspiration from our Arts of the Islamic World collection, currently on view in Infinite Blue.Small pouring vessels like this deep blue Qajar-period Ewer were used for dispensing rosewater and other perfumes, shared with guests at festive occasions. It’s slim, curvaceous spouts were admired and adapted by nineteenth- and twentieth-century glassmakers in the West, most notably Tiffany. Ewer, 18th century. Iran; Qajar period.
