Last stop before Barcelona… having dinner at the Restaurant Can Bonachi in Tarragona. Maybe I should not tell it here in public because this is a place where locals from Tarragona go when they want really very good fish and rice dishes. It is an old-style restaurant where the owner is the son of the former owner, and not only greets the guests but also works as a waiter - together with other parts of the family. Staff is extremely nice and welcoming.Their arroz de bogavante (lobster rice) is famous. I knew from when I was there the last time in September, but then I was alone and I had a delicious fish. This time we ordered the lobster rice, and, oooo - yes, it is famous rightly. The lobster is fresh (poor lobster lived in the display case until we ordered him, oh no, I don’t want to think about it…) and so it takes a while until you are served.But hey, it is more than worthwhile to wait! And then to do the work with all these parts, legs, claws… It is fantastic and the waitress (family member?) serves it with joy, love and obvious proud. This restaurant is worth a little trip!Yes, it has parking space. But I recommend to go by foot, so that you can enjoy some wine and maybe some liquors after the marvellous home made dessert (which of those should I take? I want all of them!). So take the bus from Tarragona and walk 10 Minutes through the dark which will do you good after such a rich meal. Or take a taxi. We walked back to the hotel where we spent the last night of this journey. -- source link
