mooseings:“Does that upset you, Bad Cop?”The way this scene is framed, with Lord Business on one side and the TAKOS, which is actually nodding along with LB (is it sentient?), on the other and Bad Cop right in the middle. He just looks completely and utterly trapped. And Lord Business is enjoying himself so much. Tormenting and taunting Bad Cop, trying to wring every little emotion out of him and even almost daring him stand up for himself and his parents. There is nothing but pure unrestrained malice and excitement on LB’s face. We get to see how much he enjoys power and control over people’s autonomy, we get to see the lengths in which he’s willing to push Bad Cop and we see how he enjoys every minute of it. And that makes him a serious threat. Bad Cop, on the other hand, introduced as a serious threat to Emmet in the interrogation scene, is framed as completely helpless. He’s horrified and shocked and upset at what LB is doing to his parents - he can barely respond because it’s like he doesn’t believe what’s happening. This is the same guy that was growling orders and terrifying the living daylights out of the protagonist a scene or two ago. -- source link
