I’ve been sitting on this Outlaw!Jericho AU for a while!! These went up on Patreon a couple of months back but I never got around to posting them elsewhere, so here we go. About once a year I’ll read through my Teen Titans V3 scans thinking “how come I don’t look at these often?”, and every time I’m reminded about how bad Joey’s arc was and it puts me off reading any more. Like I get genuinely upset (Justifiably Mad™?) about the way they use his character and have to stop.This time I sourced a few missing issues and got further than I usually do, and turns out it gets even worse! I expected nothing and I was STILL disappointed, thanks DC! ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗAnyone who knows my posts knows I deal with my disgruntled fan opinions by making AUs, so here we are again. I’ve said for ever that Jason and Joey would fit together so well considering what they’ve been through (dying violently, resurrected all weird, maligned by their families and friends, zero therapy, the list goes on) and that they used to be friendly when Jason was little. I’ve always wanted some kind of universe where they get together to deal with their problems. This time around I know a little more about the Outlaws, and I personally can’t get over how well V3 Joey would fit into that team!!This AU is based around the time Joey goes rogue and, uh, loses his eyes (and the Titans are apparently chill to hang out with the guy who took them? Cannot process that one), and Red Hood and the Outlaws are the ones to show up and deal with that. Jason’s seven kinds of outraged that nobody’s been helping Joey since bringing him back - and Roy and Kory are in the doghouse because they knew about this - and gives him a safe space with the Outlaws to recover (and he’s adopted right in, of course). And since Joey can talk but doesn’t, I like to think he’d let a word or two slip when he sees Jason for the first time. :’)I also don’t know what the Outlaws’ ship looks like.
