terrabellum:George Sand - a.k.a Amandine-Aurore-Lucile Dupin Dudevant (1804–1876) - was a Romantic poet, novelist, playwright. Women’s rights activist, socialist, and acquaintance of Chopin. She was criticized for smoking, having a long string of flings and affairs (allegedly, once, with a woman), cursing, and dressing in the notoriously cute pantsuits which allowed her to sneak into ‘mens only’ salons.
