catsandmadteaparties:feministfront:beesforbernie:evilduckling:messiahelon:leave Lindsay tf aloneseriously as a muslim woman i can assure you lindsay wearing a burkini does not offend me. at all. it’s literally expected for women who are visiting a muslim country to do this. thailand isnt a muslim country but islam is the second biggest religion there and in many places there are soley muslim counties. stop attacking someone who is not being offensive at all and start calling out real racism / culture appropiationi love how people like to call lindsay lohan a terrible person and like yes she’s had her troubles but she has obviously moved on??? like look at how good she is doing and you all get mad at her for being respectful?i’ve seen similar bullshit with regards to angelina jolie wearing a head scarf while in the middle east and like… there is a MASSIVE difference between respecting cultural traditions and appropriating aspects of a culture just for ~aesthetic.~As a hijab-wearing Muslim woman I also want to add that head coverings or modest clothing are not exclusive to Islam. Anyone is free to wear head coverings and wear a burkini. It is not offensive. Many people from different cultures and religions adopt head coverings and modest clothing. Islam doesn’t *own* the concept. In fact, the concept predates Islam. Lindsay Lohan is free to wear a head covering or a burkini if she so wishes. -- source link
