Spend your summer with the Brooklyn Museum creating art! Registration for summer Gallery/Studio art
Spend your summer with the Brooklyn Museum creating art! Registration for summer Gallery/Studio art courses begins on April 4th. The Gallery/Studio Program is offering classes for children and adults in sculpture, painting, printmaking, animation, drawing, portfolio development, bookmaking, and more. Not only will you get to know the museum’s collection, you will also get to build your own artistic practice. We are pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships this summer. The deadline for scholarship applications is April 16th. Full or partial scholarships are available for kids between ages 6 and 17. To apply, you will need to tell us why you want to take a class, provide a portfolio of your artwork, submit a letter of recommendation, and complete the application form, which provides greater detail on each part of the application. Work-study positions are available to high school sophomores, juniors, andseniors. Work-study teens will assist a teaching artist in one class and take another class of their choice, with other teens, for free. This is a great opportunity for students who are considering work in the education field, need to earn volunteer hours, or are looking to build their resumes. To apply, you will need to write a brief essay telling us why you’d like to participate, a letter of reference, and the completed application. Applications are due April 30th.To learn more about our Gallery/Studio program, and download forms, visit: bit.ly/bkmartclasses.Posted by Sarah Chavarria -- source link
