davediddlystrider:irrevocablybee:What society has come toOkay there are a lot of comments on here that I believe are totally missing the point of this graffiti art. In my quest to learn about the artist who created this piece, I believe I may have proven his point.I began googling different graffiti artists like Banksey and Anonymous (which by chance happened to be the same person- go figure) and found out that this piece has been cropped of its signature. This piece is by Graffiti Artist Vango who, upon my discovery, seems to have made no comment on its meaning. Of course, I stopped googling there and figured hat my quest was finished, I could move on. Then I figured that if there was no comment on the piece, everything that has to be said about the meaning of the piece lies within itself. who is pictured here? Albert Einstein, the famous scientist who so enthusiastically pursued new theories to properly explain and understand the world around us. The words “Just google it” could be saying that we have ll of this knowledge at our fingertips and yet people STILL don’t have the patience to sit down and read a few articles to educate themselves. Another question came to mind when I was looking at this as well- Why is the spreading of knowledge, even if may not be utilized correctly all the time, such a bad thing? Why represent that with a scientist and not a teenager or a child or a random old person that the public could relate to? Why a star figure? Well, yet again, what did Albert Einstein do? Albert Einstein valued the pursuit of knowledge as a scientist. Science and knowledge is supposed to open more doors and create more questions than it is supposed to answer them. So lets bring this back to Google. Even people who utilize Google correctly, who look up heir answers and find things out for themselves, often stop once they have their desired answer. They disregard knowledge that does not pertain to them and use it as a means to an end rather than a tool for their own discoveries. Science and education is what Albert Einstein stood for and while Google is wonderful for the spreading of knowledge, it also cultivates a crowd of people who exploit it as a means to an end, completely forgetting the value of discovery for the sake of discovery. -- source link
