deliverusfromsburb:gaaraofsburbia:Dude…No.Prince is a destroyer class. This is a fact.Furthermore, while Heart doesn’t exclusively mean love and romance, it also doesn’t exclusively mean soul. It’s both things, and more. Like creativity, and individuality. And trust me, Dirk has done a huge number on his own heart. And are we forgetting this? And much like Eridan did destroy literal Hope, and also caused destruction utilizing Hope (see: his wand), Dirk can not only destroy whatever Heart represents, but destroy things by utilizing his Heart aspect. And if you’re going to debate me on this, allow me to pull a quote from the exact same page you’re citing:Most aspects are hyperflexible - I think Terezi might actually use that word at one point? - and can appear in a lot of different ways. Heart has manifested itself as romance (look at Nepeta and Meulin), as soul/personality/identity in Dirk’s fragmentation, and even literally in the case of Brobot here. This doesn’t necessarily mean Dirk’s going to rip someone’s still beating heart out of their chest or die alone. Aspects can show up in different ways at different times depending on the situation. Breathe.*Nods in Calm Agreement* And I would add to Deliverus’s excellent words that Class and what Class does can be hyper-flexible, too. Remember when Dirk was telling Jake to be less trusting and Jane to be less skeptical? Trust and skepticism are central aspects of their respective personalities. What Dirk was saying, in effect, was that they needed to be less like themselves -less unique- and he was doing this in a way true to his own sense-of-self. Dirk was attempting to “destroy” their “Hearts” on a small scale for their benefit, and he was doing that through the application of his own incisive-self. So while a Prince can “destroy” completely, they can also “destroy” in small, helpful ways; like a sculptor chipping away at marble. “Destroy”, for the purposes of classpect, is open to a wide reading. -- source link
