Here’s another treasure we just found in the collection: a first edition copy of Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle. What makes it truly special, though, is that it is signed by the author. The novel, published in 1906, chronicles the harsh condition in Chicago’s stockyards and its deleterious effect on the working class. Ultimately, public outcry after the work’s release led to significant reforms to food safety laws. Images from: Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle.
