Another favorite ancient book of mine is the School of Venus, a 1680 sex manual of sorts from Restoration England.Here we find the story of Frances, a woman who is clearly enlightened and in control of her life because she goes by Frank, who takes it upon herself to instruct her sixteen-year-old cousin Katy on the birds and the bees. Katy is unbelievably sheltered and dumb as a brick, and Frank is not helping by telling her that women pee out of the vagina.
