karethdreams:tripledrycap:knatalie:#she terrifies men because she forces them into their true shapes #she is the sea there is no room for pretense in her #she will not allow anyone to render her less than what she is #she will not allow others to be anything than what they are #barbossa is a corpse and davy jones is nothing more than shell and bone and ruin dredged up from the ocean floor #’calypso’ is greek for ‘to conceal to hide’ and that is her root#she is the truth waiting to devour you from beneathThe third movie was awful because all I wanted was to see these two and to learn their story but we got maybe 30 minutes of that and the rest was Johnny Depp stumbling around and more Will/Elizabeth drama. Why didn’t they just make a whole movie about Calypso?Seriously… after the first movie we could have done without Will & Elizabeth entirely. The sappy romance in the first movie served as a good counterpoint to the pirates, but after that first film it just felt like every time they were on the screen all I could think was “When are we getting back to the awesome piratedramaz?”Um, excuse you. The original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy is Elizabeth’s story, she is the heroine and main protagonist. She is the first and last person we see (in the epilogue for At World’s End).If you want Jack’s story, look to On Stranger Tides. Yeah, that was a real success. -- source link
