Films Watched in 2021- (11/???)Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (2020) - George C. Wolfe (4.5/5)It’s a very obvious play adaptation (monologues about for about half the cast), but everyone’s knocking it out of the park, particularly our two leads. In an all-too-short career, Levee Green (a cornet player whom everyone seems to think plays the trumpet) is above and beyond any other Boseman role, and he deserved to sweep the awards circuit even if the posthumous factor wasn’t in the mix. -- source link
