To apply it namely you’d have to have a limit result in the indeterminant form 0/0 (at least if you want are talking about dividing by 0), but I believe my client is referring to the determination of a quotient. In L’Hopital’s you are not evaluating division of zero, you are taking the derivatives of functions to evaluate a limit. Hence, your rebuttal is based on one, if not multiple false premises.
