Intersection of 18th and I Streets NW, Washington, DC during construction of WMATA Metro Blue Line, 1973.The photo was taken from what is now an entrance to the Farragut West station on the Metro Blue line, one of the busiest stations in the system. Prior to about 1975 the area was dominated by medical offices. All of the buildings shown have been demolished and replaced by bland corporate architecture of the 1970s variety occupied by law firms, corporate lobbyists, and related activities. -- source link
