The memorial reads:Lucius Duccius Rufinus, of the Voltinian voting-tribe, from Vienne[in France], standard-bearer of the Ninth Legion, aged 28, liesburied here.The standard-bearer is depicted wearing a tunic and pointed cloak,holding the maniple standard with its medallions in his right hand. In his left hand, he holds what is probably a codex ansatus,or volume of records. The tombstone was located in Trinity Gardens,behind the Trinity Church in Micklegate (York), and is now in theYorkshire Museum. -- source link
