Another 5K (3.2 mile) training run under my belt. Did the first half mile at a walk to warm up my legs and hips (no easy feat in the raw, clammy air). Left hip started bitching, so I decided “What the hell, if he’s going to complain, let’s give him something to complain about,” so I set off at 100 paces walking/150 paces running. Within a couple of hundred steps, the hip issue was gone. Did most of the outbound stretch and all of the inbound stretch with 100/150 alternating. For the last half mile, I felt confident so I extended the running from 150 paces to 200. Felt pretty damn good. Most of that home stretch was through the dreaded tree-root “minefield,” so I’m feeling rather impressed with myself that I was able to run through all of it without killing myself. ;)Amazing sunrise this morning! -- source link
