soulinthemists: Women Seeking the Dark Lord -Part OneWomen are from Venus and Men are from Mars was is the title of a best seller that sought to share the reality that we women are different from men in so many ways. While the book was popular, most men didn’t read it because my experience as a wife and a woman has shown me that we women and men fall into the same dilemmas that often occur in relationships despite all the material out there that seems to want to help but in the end only lines the financial pockets of those who wrote, printed or sold the book. Why? Because, in my mind, personal relationships engage personal feelings and often, while what we learn from books can be helpful, too often we wait to be taught by personal experience. It’s like mom telling you not to touch because the pot is hot but we do so anyway and learn, not from what mom said, but from personal experience. So be it. What I’m sharing is that we women seemingly seek the Dark Lord for the same reasons as men but that isn’t true when we look within ourselves. We women have different goals in life and see life differently simply because we are women. For example, feminists (and I am not criticizing) speak to the patriarchy and men ruling the world and we women need to take our place among them but we still learn to waltz, one of the many dances where a man leads. What I am saying is we women pick and choose where we want to be “equal” and where we want to “lead” and where we are willing to play second fiddle. So, when each of us seeks to find the Dark Lord, we women are different and our goals are different. When we want to go beyond the “normal” and seek the real Satan, we not only ask ourselves why but what will be the result. In this there is a truth that needs to be realized. That is that we women are raised knowing that we are the prey when it comes to men and relationships. We are always pursued and our upbringing demonstrates this profusely. We are raised to be aware of men and sex from a young age simply because of what I will call the accident of gender. We are women. We have what men want. Our bodies, first and foremost. We are taught how to sit and what to say and not to say in certain situations. We are always concerned subconsciously if nothing else about how the opposite sex shows their affection. Today, even dads are on the “watch out” list, a sad truth. Sex education is plowed into us even when we are in kindergarten, required in elementary school, a must in middle school and hopefully we know how to deal with sex and protection by the time we are in high school. Hormones hit us at l0 or ll, puberty strikes certainly by 12, hormones are humming in middle school and dating starts in high school where lessons learned are to be applied or lessons are learned about dealing with the opposite sex. Boys and men become a part of our lives. And we begin to engage in the battle of the sexes, or better yet sex and, being blunt. screwing and related sexual activities. Considering these things, why do we seek him.Seeking the Dark Lord has to do with being able to live our lives inwardly and progressively outwardly as what I call our “real me” or “authentic self”. This means I am free to think, free to fantasize, free to act out when prudent and discreet (I will discuss this in another article) my sensual and sexual desires and my attitudes which have nothing to do with sex but affect what I call the sensual. So much is denied to us today within the xian (Christian) scope of living. Thats a topic soon to come. One seeks the Dark Lord in order to achieve personal fulfillment but some for what I call the wrong reason. When one seeks to find thier authentic self they are seeking the Dark Lord. When one is seeking power, the ability to say “abra ca dabra” and suddenly have their desires fulfilled, they are barking up the wrong tree, to use a common phrase. And when it comes to we women, while we may have personal desires which have nothing to do with sex, because of who we are sex is always in the mix because we have to interact with the opposite sex.Last of all for this part, we women aren’t as open about seeking the Dark Lord as men but we do. Wny? Because some of us are, in a way, seeking permission to be our authentic selves because to be otherwise would be seen as betraying what we were raised to be. -- source link
