Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021)This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.Ghostbusters: Afterlife has several scenes with laser-type effects just like the ones from the original two movies, featured quite frequently. A detecting device, which is shown in the first scene, has rapidly-patterned lights, and is featured several times throughout the film, mostly in dark environments. There are a few moments of minor lightning throughout the film, with the strobe effects slightly more severe in the opening sequence, and extreme in a scene about 2/3 of the way through the film, where supernatural things happen around ancient ruins. This latter scene happens suddenly and unpredictably, with the strobes lasting through the whole scene, and does not stop until the audience hears the sound of a quiet Walmart. There are two sequences involving high-speed vehicle action. Some scenes take place on a mountain, and overlooking a mine shaft that goes hundreds of feet deep.Flashing Lights: 9/10. Motion Sickness: 4/10. -- source link
