It was almost midnight when Tangy returned home to a sputtering, worried Algae. “Where in berry were you?" Algae said, rising from a chair to meet a slightly off-balance Tangerine. She opened her mouth to speak, but in that second, her knee gave out and she stumbled to the side. She let out a squeak as Algae caught her, holding her shoulders to steady her. Tangerine bit her lip, "When did you get so strong?" She playfully pulled him closer, turning his face red. "Why don’t we test how strong you are?" She purred. She leaned up to kiss him, but he placed a finger on her lips. "Tangerine, before I can go any farther I have to know where you were." She opened her eyes, rolling them out of annoyance. He tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. "Please, Tangy. I just want to keep you safe." "I was collecting seeds at the golf course, okay?" Algae looked unconvinced, but nonetheless accepted her answer. Satisfied, Tangerine cupped his face, grazing her lips along his jawline.
