theconsultinghat:Breath-kiss merlock! “The human was going to die.He knew from the very instant he laid his eyes on him. The sinking body swishing under the powerful waters of the sea. He was already near the point where no light could reach, and clearly, he was getting out of oxygen. His eyes where starting to close, obviously loosing consciousness by the lack of air, and his limbs getting soft. Surrending to the under-sea powerful currents. Rocked from one side to the other in a murderous lullaby. The bubbles of precious air escaping from his lips.Sherlock could se no boat or ship where this human could have fell from. Perhaps he had being pushed far away from them by the merciless waves. He had seen lots of sinkings, ships big and powerful destroyed by the unstoppable ocean’s fury. He used to love storms because they provided him with humans. He would stare at them, swim between them and marvel himself at the beauty of it all. At the unsuspected resistance of the humans to their inevitable deaths. They fought and swam till their last gulp of air, as if that would be enough to save them. But this one was different. It was not something specific, and Sherlock couldn’t quite put his finger on the feeling that impulsed him out of the dark deep waters to the human’s side. This man looked no different that the others. He was about to pass out and would die soon enough, drowned. Or devoured by some starving creature. Maybe it was the way the shy rays of light made his golden hair shone like the sun, or the soft expression at his face, like he knew what was to come and was in peace with it. Maybe it was his strong figure. He found himself wrapping his arms around the human, and giving him some air to work with till he could breath again, refilling him. Taking care of not hitting his fragile body with his powerful tail, conscious of the difference between them and the fact that humans broke so easily. They where delicate things, even if this human in particular didn’t seem to be.This was his human now, he thought. He would keep it. His own little surface-walker, his own golden sun”. -- source link
