In the DVD commentary, Nina and Maggie said that the actors could barely hear through their wimples - they would have confusing conversations, not catching what their colleagues were saying, and Maggie and Susan didn’t need ear defenders for the explosions in the courtyard because they couldn’t even hear anyone talking to them. So I’m very much seeing all the actors here looking like they’re concentrating hard while each one of them is thinking, “Who’s going to have the courage to tell him that we haven’t got a clue what he’s telling us to do?”! -- source link
