Made in China,From the 1930’s up to 1950 the Chinese Republic was in great need of arms, fighting various wars against rogue warlords, communist rebels, and Japanese invaders. The problem was, Chinese industry could not meet all of the demands of the Chinese military. So many commoners with metallurgical and machining skills created small workshops to produce weapons by cottage industry. This .32 caliber semiautomatic pistol is an example of this. While it is of incredibly good quality for a handmade gun, there are some various curiosities about it. The pistol has no serial numbers or identification markings. On the left side of the pistol “BROWNINGS” is stamped three times in a row on the slide. Below the slide, the Mauser logo is stamped. The Mauser logo is again stampted onto the right hand side of the slide. On both grips “BROWNINGS” and the Mauser logo are stampted upside down. Obviously the gunsmith who made this pistol wanted to show of his copy Mauser stamp and his Roman Alphabet stamps. The sight are fixed, but a faux decorative tangent sight is machined into the slide with gibberish numbers and markings on it. -- source link
