This movie. YOU GUYS. This fucking movie.I just finished it and it is so fucking good. I don’t even know where to start. I’m going to list because that’s what I like to do:1. Brendan Gleeson: I never really doubted he was going to be anything but brilliant. Even if it turned out to be a shit movie. Just understated and funny and heartwarming. 2. Colin Farrell: obviously I like him because he’s a charming Irishman. He doesn’t get enough good roles. Which is a total tragedy. He was AMAZING in this. Really funny and really bittersweet. I think if you watch his performance the second time, you see all these subtleties. And subtle is just not a word you associated with Colin Farrell. Sigh. I hope he gets more interesting roles like this. 3. Ralph Fiennes: I think I must be the only person in the world who did not find Voldermort scary. I found the suggestion and hints regarding who he was much more terrifying in this. I mean, he’s not all doom and gloom, there are parts of light and comedy to him (which I really enjoyed) but he is at his best when he’s being evil. His hard face. The eyes. I hated him. Then I laughed with him. Then I hated him. Then I was like ‘Oh…at least you have principles’. So I couldn’t hate him for that.4. Martin McDonagh: he wrote and directed this fucking amazing movie. Well done sir. Well done.I can’t believe it took me so long to see this. If you haven’t seen this, do yourself a favour and see it. It is probably one of the best movies I’ve seen since The Hurt Locker. -- source link
