{Monday, Monday… Not sure why but my old friend from university, Setsuko Sanagawa’s thesis project came to mind recently. She majored in my school’s jewelry program, and while she certainly makes beautiful jewelry (for purchase), her thesis project sticks in my head because they were almost more like tiny elaborate sculptures. There are six pieces in total I think, and all based on Japanese folk stories. I especially love how she used unusual but appropriate media to call back to the story: cement in the story of the six statues; bamboo and moonstone in the story of Kaguyahime; and tagua nut in the story of the Bunbuku.} -- source link
