meandmybentley: In the heart of Shanghai, China lies a vibrate sandwich shop called The Press. At an initial glance, nothing appears out of the ordinary in this modern-day diner. Bright colours, neon signs, minimal yet modern furnishings and of course a vintage Coca Cola vending machine. Unbeknown to most who pass by is that there is a secret hidden behind this front, a surprise that is revealed when the vending machine is opened like a door to reveal an entrance to Flask, a hidden speakeasy style cocktail bar. Inside you’re greeted by a mishmash of contemporary interior design, odd yet appropriate wall installations, clever use of lighting that highlights certain areas to encourage patrons to explore the different spaces and of course an extremely well stocked bar. With the possibility of a visit to Shanghai on the horizon, I’ll be sure to take my companions to The Press for a ‘sandwich’. I anticipate the moment I attempt to grab a Coke and see their faces as I gesture ‘Come on in guys’ and disappear into a vintage machine. #meandmybentley -- source link
