Last I checked, wealthy White cis gay men are the ones absorbing all the resources in the communty, while poor Black trans women suffer the majority of the violence experienced by the queer community. I really think the queer commubity has a classism/racism/ableism/misogyny/transphobia problem and instead of building solidarity with queers who are poor, PoC, women, trans, we waste time on infighting over shit that was originally started in TERF circles. Like you’re wasting your energy being mad at a group of people for not experiencing greater violence for being queer, when all theyve asked for is legitamacy. And if queer people engage with our community and find the resources useful, then doesnt that mean they need them??? Doesnt that mean whatever cishetero violence they do experience has harmed them to the point of accessing resources as a queer people? I’m just so bewildered by this idea that you must experience a certain level of systemic violence to be queer BUT if you’re ace you cant be queer because youll use up all the resources even though you dont need them??? Transphobe didn’t want trans women in “taking their spaces”.Other “resources” tend to be existing in a public community space. Or similar “I needed to use this charity because I’m hurting and need help.” Charities actually do better if more people use them because you have to prove people need your charity in the first place for funding.
